Our prime aim is produce theatre. However, we are aware that theatre has evolved. It requires the creative skills of actors, artists, directors, producers, musicians, designers, promotions operatives, technicians, administrators, musicians and writers. In the full knowledge that all of these industries are hard to break into(even with the formal training!) and gain experience in The Curious Room has formed. We hope to provide a network of “artists” of all disciplines a forum within which to expand, experiment and create.
We are currently well under way with our first project. We will be performing an adapted version of Angela Carter’s celebrated radio play Vampirella. This “grown-up Halloween experience” will be performed in a newly renovated local venue The George IV Theatre Space at The South Side Bar on Brixton Hill on October 26, 27 & 28th October.
All proceeds from this project will go to charity. On this occasion we have decided to support the South London based The Kid’s Company with a donation towards their Urban Academy. An excellent facility that teaches displaced young people life-skills and helps them find direction and ensure a stable future for them.
